Club meeting - April

There will be meeting this Sunday 24th April. MEETING STARTS AT 7pm hall opens at 6.45 pm. It seems like its been an age since we met, having skipped last months meeting due to the Covid outbreak in Canterbury.

I know many Dawn services have been canceled due to the large public gatherings but let’s not forget those who serviced for our Country and made sacrifices for us all today.  New Zealanders can still try to keep the Anzac spirit alive by commemorating in different ways across the day instead of attending the dawn service. Around the country there are a lot of Cenotaphs that don't get seen or are never visited. It would be wonderful if people could go down to their local Cenotaphs and lay down a poppy there. You can check with the local RSA to find out if there is a service in your area Local Museums will no doubt have Anzac as a theme, and I encourage you all to take the time to visit and enjoy and learn it also makes a great day out. As we have found the displays are always changing and the items of interest certainly keep ou attentive to the changes.
