Club meeting - September

WELCOME BACK; JUST A REMINDER THAT ITS CLUB MEETING THIS SUNDAY NIGHT AND WE WILL BE MEETING WITH SOME ALERT LEVEL 2 COVID RESTRICTIONS SO PLEASE COME PREPARED.

Face masks are compulsory and 1m distancing. Either scan in at the door or sign in please. FOR OUR NEW MEMBERS: The meeting venue is The Riccarton Community Centre. Most of the parking is to the left of the building but there are parks behind and to the right, there is also parking in side street opposite.

MEETING STARTS AT 7pm Hall opens at 6.30pm. Please do not congregate at the entrance way there will be a couple of tables for scanning in or attendance register in the hall. Thanks in advance.

SALES TABLES WILL BE ACCOMMODATED. We will still have provision for collectors to have a sales area. There will be NO light refreshments during the meeting.

OUR APOLOGIES WE CANNOT MEET THE COVID STANDARDS FOR CONSUMPTION OF FOOD OR DRINK AT THE MEETING.

The Door entry is $3 per person. There will be a lovely VEGE basket for the raffle prize so bring some extra coins for the raffle tickets. The VEGE RAFFLE was such a success last time we are going to repeat it. The committee welcome suggestions for raffle of the night. THANKS IN ADVANCE TO BRUCE AND JOHN FOR MANAGING THIS ON THE NIGHT.

CLUB MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER: Printed copies for those that normally receive the printed version will be available from Warren on the night. SUBS: Please pay up for those who have not yet renewed your membership Thank you.

ITEM OF THE NIGHT COLLECTABLES. Anything made of OPENING TOOLS. That is anything from keys, bottle openers, safe openers, tools, watch openers. Well, what a wide open subject this should get you thinking looking forward to seeing a great array of items to share knowledge about to brag about your treasures and where you found it. Reminder to switch you mobile phones to silent or vibrate during the meeting.

BOTTLE OF THE NIGHT. UNUSUAL PATENTS. This should bring out some fantastic examples the scope is wide open the table should be a blaze of unusual patents dug, bought and or acquired.

THERE WILL BE A GUEST SPEAKER ON CHCH PATENT BOTTLES. NATIONAL SHOW 2021. As you will be aware we had to postpone the National the new dates are Labour Weekend at this stage, it is complicated due to the COVID Alert levels around the country and the committee are waiting until the Government announcement on MONDAY 4 OCT for the outline of changes to the Alert levels. As it stands now, we cannot host the show at level 2 because of the restriction of 100 people in the hall at any point in the time.

The Club book is almost to print and will have a good number of pre orders already remember it’s a limited print run of 100 hard covered books and a huge achievement to all those involved. If you would like to secure your copy, please let Helen know or add it to you show entry form.

As a club we welcome New Members and look forward to seeing some new faces at the forth coming meeting so bring a friend. We look forward to preserving history and improving the collecting for the future.
