G.A.122., G.A.122A and the slogan GUINNESS IS GOOD FOR YOU

There are Types C and E GUINNESS IS GOOD FOR YOU/GUINNESS IS GOOD FOR YOU broad handle openers, each with G.A.122A on one side of the top bar (see an example below).

There is also a Type E < GUINNESS >/< GUINNESS > opener with G.A.122. (several of these have been sighted), on one side of the top bar (see photo below).

The previous version of the Guinness openers list described the opener above as having G.A.122A on one side of the top bar, and this has been changed to G.A.122 in Version 1.5. of this Guinness opener list, assuming the 'A' was a mistake. But, if anyone can show a photo of the Type E < GUINNESS >/< GUINNESS > opener with G.A.122A instead of G.A.122, please let us know. The Guinness collectors club database suggests the broad handle opener with G.A.122A is from c1931.

The 'GUINNESS IS GOOD FOR YOU' slogan first appeared in the February 6, 1929, issue of the Daily Mail see here and here. This same slogan was also used to promote Guinness Bull Dog Stout in New Zealand in 1929 and Foreign Extra Stout in 1930, see below (source National Library of New Zealand's Papers Past).
