"STORK" BRAND/GUINNESS. Type C2 85mm

Reported from Australia, "STORK" BRAND/GUINNESS. Type C2 85mm.

Was this opener sent to Australia together with "Stork” Brand Guinness in crown top bottles to promote the product? Australian newspaper reports include:

Bairnsdale Advertiser and Tambo and Omeo Chronicle (Vic.  1882 - 1918), Saturday 29 August 1908, page 29 (original source).

And The Brisbane Courier (Qld.  1864 - 1933), Friday 7 July 1922, page 11 (original source)

The ads above occurred at a time when crown sealed bottles were being imported into Australia (see here). While there are no direct references made to crown capped bottles of "Stork” Brand Guinness in these ads, it seems possible that this opener may have been shipped to Australia with the products around that time. Can anyone provide further information regarding "Stork” Brand Guinness in Australia and the types of bottles that were used?

No evidence of "Stork" Brand Guinness being sent in crown top bottles to NZ could be found. However, it was found that this product was shipped to Singapore as late as 1950 (The Straits Times, 21 July 1950, Page 7 Advertisements Column 2).

Any further thoughts or feedback on the history of Stork Brand Guinness would be much appreciated. This opener has been added to the list of known Guinness openers (here).

Evidence for Stork Brand Guinness being sold in NZ, in what look like crown cap bottles in the 1920's is presented below. From the National Library of New Zealand Papers Past.
