BABY BULLDOGS/BABY BULLDOGS D2 82mm

These openers appear in Australasia, see below.

The BULLDOG trademark was registered by Robert Porter in 1879. They sent their product around the world, including SE Asia, Australia and New Zealand. But there seems to be little information on the "BABY" form of the BULLDOG (GUINNESS) STOUT in Australasia. Research was carried out using the National Library of Australia newspapers using TROVE and the National Library of New Zealand's Papers Past.

Certainly BULLDOG stout was consumed there, as seen below...

New Zealand Herald, Volume LXI, Issue 18603, 10 January 1924, Page 11

The Mercury (Hobart, Tas. : 1860 - 1954), Saturday 7 February 1925, page 5

But few specific references to "BABY" BULLDOGS could be found, see below. Presumably "BABY" refers to an especially small bottle, perhaps like a "nip" bottle intended to hold about the contents of a single glass.

Sunday Times (Perth, WA : 1902 - 1954), Sunday 2 September 1906, page 5

If anyone has more information regarding "BABY" BULLDOGS (GUINNESS) STOUT please let us know. Maybe there are known crown cap bottles or labels? Any info appreciated.

Images below were kindly sent in from the United States, note the neck label clearly identifies the product as BULL DOG BABY. Perhaps the same bottles were sent to Australasia?
