Club meeting - October

We can host our Sunday, October 31st  meeting from 6.45 pm but there will be the restrictions of wearing a face mask / social distancing and a requirement to scan in and sanitize prior to entering the venue.We will have no supper due to the restrictions apologies, but we will be able to have a raffle so do bring some extra coins.

Collectable for the night is NZ Greenstone (pounamu) Now what a great subject to have as a collectable and I am sure there are many of you with great pieces tucked away, so dust them off and bring them in and share the story of its history, and or where you got it from weather it was a handed down treasure or some thing you scored at a local antique shop or fair in years gone by, now I’ve pictured jewellery and I know there are many items out there with a little or a large pieces of greenstone many of historical importance so lets get the items out and give. Hugh something to write up and picture for the next magazine.

Bottle of the night is Perfume bottles Well, this is a great subject and one Joy Redmond displayed at shows for years she had an amazing collection so let’s see if we can full the table with an array of perfume bottles from across the ages, the pretty ones the highly decorative the practical and not so, big ones and the littlest ones so dig deep and dust off these little beauties.

RAFFLE  Yes, we will have a raffle on the night depending on supply it will be either a vege or fruit and may even be a combination, time will tell, and as it is Halloween there may be some little spot prizes for those who are lucky enough.

END OF YEAR DINNER We are planning to have an end of year dinner again in November, I will need numbers before the 12th of November. Once again Kate and John Walters from Indulge Catering will be our resident chefs as with many businesses Covid has slowed their business plans and they are still catering until the end of 2021 so we are fortunate to have them one last time a menu and costings will be out in the next few days.

NATIONAL BOTTLE SHOW 2022 CHRISTCHURCH 18/ 19 /20 FEBRUARY Mark the date on the calendar and let’s hope we can bring the show together in the new year.
