The Crown Cork & Seal Company of Baltimore started production of Crown Seals in 1892 and by 1906 had expanded its manufacturing base to include Europe, South America and Asia Pacific (see here). The crown cork (also known as a crown seal, crown cap or just a cap) was the first highly successful disposable product (more info here).
The earliest references to crown cork or seal in Australian newspapers (source National Library of Australia) appear to be from the early 1900's
The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW 1842 - 1954), Thursday 27 November 1902, page 8
The Examiner, Saturday, April 25 1903, page 1
Albury Banner and Wodonga Express, Friday 1 May 1903, page 29
And include imported products e.g.,
Morning Bulletin Saturday 22 December 1906, page 10
Morning Bulletin, Wednesday 4 August 1909, Page 4
As well as domestic products, such as Resch's Lager
Evening News (Sydney, NSW : 1869 - 1931), Sunday 28 February 1909, page 11
and Fosters Lager
Cowra Free Press Saturday 2 October 1915, page 3
Its likely that a similar trend occurred in New Zealand, first with imported crown capped bottles in the early 1900's, then with increasing domestic production in the 1910's, see below (source National Library of New Zealand's Papers Past).
