A sunny Sunday spent in the Selwyn District

Our visit to historic Terrace Station, Hororata was very interesting on a beautiful Spring day. The earliest part of the Terrace Station homestead came from Australia in the mid-1850s as a pre-cut, three-roomed house. Terrace Station was the home of Sir John Hall and Lady Rose Hall, and is still lived in by their descendants.

And on the same day we visited the Glentunnel Museum, which was very impressive. This museum is highly recommended, with many superb items on display reflecting the history of the area.
