AGM meeting report

There was a great turn out for the AGM over 40 in attendance and a couple of trading tables to keep everyone's interest brimming. The AGM went smoothly with the resignation from the committee of Hugh Aston after many terms on the committee, but fortunately he has offered to stay on as our Magazine Editor. The September club magazine has been placed in the members section of this website.

Samuel Parnell was a carpenter, in 1840 was the first man to get an 8-hour day and 40 hour working week in Wellington NZ. The first Labour day was celebrated in NZ on 28 October 1890 (129 Yrs. ago) when several thousand trade union members and supporters attended parades in the main centres, Government employees were given the day off to attend the parades. This weekend coincides with the Long Labour weekend break so many of the collectors will be heading to the holiday destinations getting to watch the rugby etc.

Hello Members and my apologies for the lateness of my reminder for the end of JUNE meeting. I trust everyone is keeping warm and well and keeping the hobby alive, there has been plenty of activity on Trade me and in local auction houses of late so there should be some great items on the NEW FINDS table this month. I would like to encourage attendance at this meeting as we have some important topics to discuss on the direction of the club and following on from the May AGM which highlighted some areas within the club that need to be discussed and voted on.
