August newsletter & update

As you will be aware we were scheduled to hold the National here in Christchurch September 17-19 and as you can imagine the organising team have been watching the regular Govt updates at 1pm and 3pm to see where the country is heading with regard this latest Delta outbreak, and sadly Fridays announcement was not good at all for the running of the National in September, even if the South Island drops to level 1 by then we need the whole country here to make it a National event.

Club meeting - May: Annual General Meeting & Social Night

The formality of the AGM is only a small part of the meeting and it will not take the whole evening, so the outgoing committee have decided to include a wonderful supper spread of hot savories and cakes etc to form part of the social night. As a club we are extremely active in the collecting world and we have several exciting announcements to be made at the meeting.

Alan Polaschek

Our dear Patron, Alan Polaschek, passed away at Rannerdale War Veterans Home on on Friday, April 30, 2021. We have been so fortunate to have enjoyed Alan's humour and support of our club's activities over the years and as our dedicated club Patron. Alan would have turned 88 in a few days so a good innings considering his battles with his health over recent times and the passing of his dear Patricia recently. The funeral service for Alan Polaschek was held on Friday 7th May at the Transitional Cathedral Christchurch City corner of Madras Street & Hereford Street.
